Board of Assessors approves Chapter 61A farmland exemption for Nauset Way parcel

Board of Assessors · Meeting of February 12, 2026

Eastham Assessors unanimously approve Chapter 61A farmland exemption for 25 Nauset Way. Chair Davis Hobbs and member Brian LaValley, with Principal Assessor Colleen Mercurio, approved the five-acre parcel's conversion to agricultural use classification after confirming it met all state requirements including contiguous acreage, documented farmland use for two years, and minimum $500 annual income. The conversion further restricts the property's use and reduces its assessed value beyond its existing undevelopable-land classification.

The board also reviewed three motor vehicle tax commitments scheduled for dispatch and confirmed staff efforts to collect outstanding exemption applications.
