Eastham energy committee advanced research into establishing a municipal sustainability manager position. The Energy and Climate Action Committee reviewed progress on seven 2026 climate goals and committed to exploring the proposal based on cost-benefit analysis of nine municipalities. Roberta Longley and John Boiney found the sampled towns had successfully competed for grant funding, with most recovering enough to cover the position costs.
The committee also reported receiving a $250,000 Green Communities grant for police department HVAC upgrades and adjusted its climate leader grant to prioritize Town Hall HVAC work first, then reconsider a micro-grid proposal the state deemed premature.
