Council on Aging seeks vote on hybrid coordinator position

Eastham Council on Aging advances override for hybrid coordinator post. The board discussed plans to promote a budget request for a 19-hour-per-week programming and technology support position heading to the May town meeting and election ballot, originally grant-funded but currently covered by the Friends of the Council on Aging. Executive Director Dorothy Burritt reported the senior center served 8 percent more individuals in February 2026 than the prior year, with a 64 percent jump in food security services following the February blizzard when the center operated as a warming center.
Medical transportation rides declined 6 percent due to the power outage. The Friends reported thrift shop income of roughly $60,000 annually and said membership and donations are up.
