Eastham climate committee charts 2026 strategy amid grant push

Eastham's climate action committee refined 2026 strategic priorities and reported on pending grant applications. Chair Tom McNellis led the Energy and Climate Action Committee through consolidation of 14 possible actions into refined priorities with assigned lead coordinators, to be further developed in coming weeks. The town is pursuing $900,000 for level 3 EV chargers at town hall, $250,000 in Green Communities funding, and conditional access to $1 million for implementation pending approval of a Climate Leaders application.
The committee received a draft Climate Action Plan on December 31, with revisions expected by January 9 before a 30-day public comment period begins.
