Eastham CPA approves $354,500 in grants for trails, playgrounds, and pond

Eastham Community Preservation Act Committee approves $354,500 in community grants. The committee unanimously backed three applications: $150,000 for an Eastham Elementary playground renovation to replace wood chips with rubber chips and upgrade equipment; $193,000 for alum treatment of Herring Pond on behalf of the town's Health and Environment Department; and $11,500 for informational kiosks at Cottontail Acres and Boat Meadow. The committee also approved three final reports for completed projects, returning a combined $20,914.28 in unexpended funds to their original funding sources.

The next meeting is scheduled for February 4, 2026.
