Eastham library board approved donations totaling $21,000 and accepted a memorial tree. The Board of Library Trustees voted unanimously on August 25 to accept gifts including $1,000 from De Lissovoy & Mitchell and a $20,000 anonymous donation for the library's 10th Building Anniversary, along with a memorial tree from the Zimmerman family in memory of Sandy Zimmerman. Director Melanie McKenzie noted the plaque cost exceeded expectations and the board will present alternatives to the family while discussing a policy amendment clarifying installation and signage costs.
Summer Reading participation increased to 314 participants from 287 the prior year.
