Recycling Committee advances sustainability working group, plans initiatives

EASTHAM — Recycling Committee proposes creating town Director of Sustainability position. The committee, chaired by Gwyneth Butera, approved prior minutes unanimously and advanced plans for a Climate Action Plan working group that will pursue new sustainability initiatives in alignment with the town's climate goals. The group intends to collaborate with the Environmental and Climate Advisory Committee.
Committee members Jim Daw and Andrew Shearer indicated interest in the working group. Swap Shop operations continue at capacity with plans to begin tracking processed items, the committee's resident survey is now live online, and the Solid Waste working group will meet with Heather Billings on food waste composting initiatives.
