Recycling Committee plans survey, facility tours, and climate initiative

Waste Reduction & Recycling Committee · Meeting of May 26, 2026

EASTHAM — The Eastham Recycling Committee expanded community outreach on waste reduction and composting. Chair Gwyneth Butera assigned action items including resident surveys, planned tours of waste and composting facilities, and expanded newsletter distribution through partnerships with the Council on Aging and other organizations. The committee is pursuing food waste composting initiatives with local restaurants through the Solid Waste working group, which met with Heather Billings.

The Household Hazardous Waste collection event filled two semis, and the Swap Shop is retaining furniture for reuse instead of immediate disposal.
