The contracts also included a DPW Salt Shed facility, with the Salt Shed award contingent on favorable funding. Discussion covered State Revolving Fund requirements, potential USDA funding for the Salt Shed, fixed pricing with no escalation clauses, and opportunities to coordinate future Route 6 improvements with MassDOT.
The Capital Projects Committee had recommended the awards with the same Salt Shed funding contingency.
