Strategic Planning Committee charts process for integrating climate action priorities

Strategic Planning Committee · Meeting of May 11, 2026

Eastham Strategic Planning Committee maps process for integrating climate priorities into strategic plan. Chair Hope Plavin and committee members Carolyn McPherson, Karen Strauss, Michele Vion, and Patti Anderson, working with staff Jackie O'Rourke and Paul Lagg, reached consensus on how to fold the Climate Action Plan into the town's overall strategy. The group directed the Climate Action Committee to identify and rank four to six top actions from the CAP for inclusion, identify cross-departmental accountability in other town plans, and report back via memo.

The Strategic Planning Committee will develop a process map for integrating recommendations from all newly adopted town plans and present an update to the Select Board preferably in August before the board discusses its 2026-2027 goals.
