Eastham Select Board Votes Unanimously on Fees, Fertilizer Petition, and Community Fund

Eastham Select Board unanimously approved municipal fee increases, a fertilizer home rule petition, and a community fund expansion at its February 17 meeting. The four-member board — Chair Jerry Cerasale, Vice Chair Suzanne Bryan, Bob Bruns, and Aimée Eckman, with Jamie Demetri absent — voted 4-0 on every action of the evening. Proposed FY27 fee changes include raising the first residential transfer station sticker from $135 to $140, the commercial transfer station sticker from $100 to $150, ambulance rates by roughly 5 percent for ALS calls (unchanged since 2012), and seasonal beach stickers from $300 to $350 (unchanged since 2022).

The board also approved a half-acre aquaculture expansion for licensees Sam Carpentieri and Darlene Moore in the Boat Meadow area, directing Natural Resources Foreman Nicholas Sanders to return with a recommendation on the remaining half of parcel B2 before its certification expires in June. On the community fund, the board established three new designated sub-funds — a Good Neighbor Fund, a Beautification Fund, and an Endowment Fund — after Assistant Town Manager Rich Bienvenue reported a $4,500 contribution had already been received toward the Good Neighbor Fund.
