Eastham OKs $5.9M in Notes, Weighs Tight Budget
Select Board · Meeting of September 21, 2026
Eastham Select Board approves $5.9 million in notes, previews a tight FY28 budget. Town Manager Rich Bienvenue told the board only $572,000 in tax-levy capacity remains for fiscal 2028, with a possible $400,000 hit if employee health insurance rises 10 percent. The board unanimously approved $5,865,000 in bond anticipation notes sold to Oppenheimer & Company at a 3.3 percent net interest cost, and separately confirmed the town's wastewater project will save "over $50 million over the course of 30 years" due to 0 percent state financing, Chair Suzanne Bryan said.
The board also appointed Steven Sarcione, William Harrison Swift, Beverly Hobbs and Merril Davidson to town committees and approved the November 3 election warrant, which includes local water-fund ballot Questions 10 and 11. Town Clerk Linda Sasse said the town has already received 1,500 mail-in ballot requests.
