Eastham Select Board Unanimously Awards Six Wastewater Contracts Ahead of Deadline
EASTHAM — June 24, 2026 — Eastham Select Board awards six wastewater contracts with June 30 state loan deadline looming. The board voted unanimously Wednesday on a combined motion authorizing construction phase service contracts with design engineer GHD and owner's project manager Apex — including a last-minute amendment to explicitly cover Apex's OPM services — and awarding Collection System Contracts One and Three to Dig It Construction, described as the substantially lower bidder and the firm that performed most of the town's prior water project work. The action brings total awarded spending on the wastewater project to approximately $143 million of a $170 million appropriation, with three contracts still to be awarded. The Capital Projects Committee, which had reviewed draft contracts for roughly 10 days and met again Wednesday morning, voted earlier in the day to recommend the awards before forwarding them to the Select Board. The town administrator is now authorized to execute all six contracts in advance of a hard June 30 submission deadline to the State Revolving Fund, the low-interest financing program underwriting the project.
