Eastham Select Board Approves $113,000 Special Education Budget Transfer

EASTHAM — July 2, 2026 — Eastham Select Board approves $113,000 transfer to close a special education budget gap and clears a series of routine grants and licenses. The board voted unanimously Monday to move $113,000 from unexpended health insurance appropriations to cover unanticipated out-of-district elementary school placement costs under MGL Chapter 44 Section 33B, with Town Manager Rich Bienvenue noting the town had intentionally over-appropriated health insurance funds against future medical inflation. The board also unanimously approved a MassDevelopment site readiness grant resolution for the Homes Road Trade Park Master Plan Project, signed CPA grant agreements for town meeting-approved projects, and renewed Timothy Smith educational loans for Emilyn Schnitzer and Meline Schnitzer. Planning Board appointments for Andrew Holt and Mark Sinski were deferred after the required interview documentation was found missing from the packet. Bienvenue reported the town secured a State Revolving Fund extension for its wastewater project, describing it as "a big deal."
