Eastham Select Board Continues Dangerous Dog Hearing to March 9

EASTHAM — March 2, 2026 — Eastham Select Board postpones dangerous dog hearing and celebrates $175,000 housing grant. The board, meeting March 2 in the Earl Mountain Room at Town Hall, opened a public hearing under M.G.L. Chapter 140, Section 157 concerning dogs owned by Mary Ellen Kelly of 80 Linda Lane, then immediately voted unanimously to continue it to March 9 at 6:00 p.m. after the recent winter storm disrupted required notice to parties. The town manager reported that a seasonal communities grant application — assembled in roughly six days — had been funded at the full $175,000 requested, earmarked for housing at 580 Massasoit and engineering work on the Main Street master plan. During public comment, Laura Kelly urged the board to send a support letter for state home rule petitions on pesticide reduction, noting Eastham voters backed the measure by 75 percent in May 2024; no formal action was taken on that request.
